Maggie Varney, Founder & CEO of Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 40 years. For the past 30 years, she has taught patients how to deal with the appearance-related side effects of their cancer treatments through the American Cancer Society's Look Good Feel Better program.
The idea for Wigs 4 Kids began with a teen; Emily came to her class and asked for Maggie’s assistance with her hair loss issues. Wigs that are sold by salons did not fit a child or teen. Maggie was able to assist Emily with a wig and she became the spark plug, inspiring Maggie to found Wigs 4 Kids in 2003. Since then, the organization has provided over 5,000 wigs and support services to children throughout the state of Michigan at no charge!
Go Green Salon is located inside the W4K Wellness Center and is an eco-friendly establishment focused on providing all natural product lines with the highest quality services available. Our state of the art salon is dedicated to ensuring the health & safety of our guests, team and environment as our first priority.
As the beauty industry evolved to incorporate green products, Maggie knew it was a much-needed change and embraced the idea of being green. She took classes and educated herself on becoming environmentally-friendly.
